Stewardship

By raising awareness about watershed resources, mobilizing community volunteers, and facilitating local stewardship, our Stewardship Program is crucial in helping the WRP achieve its mission to bring people and local communities together to improve the long-term health of the White River and its watershed.

Accomplishments

Since 1996, over 500 annual volunteers have helped improve the long-term health of the White River watershed by:

-Planting 45,000 trees along the White River and its tributaries;

-Collecting over 3,300 water quality samples; and

-Removing over 160,000 pounds of trash from the river.
